About
Carol Nolan Drake
Founder of Carlow Consulting LLC & Published Author
Carol has had a career as an attorney, in state and local government, for a large institutional investor, three Governors and in senior-level positions. She maintained strong relationships over many years to benefit her clients and eventually formed her own company.
In January of 2017, Carol founded her company after seeing a need for consulting and advisory expertise for investors, non-profits and other organizations for federal issues, and corporate governance, including ESG and diversity, best practices. In her career she's realized that federal laws or regulatory agency rules can be challenging to boards of directors, senior management, and investors.
The Company is based in Columbus, OH with operations primarily in Washington, D.C.
Carlow Consulting LLC is named after County Carlow, Ireland, the ancestral home of our Nolan family. Family records note that the Nolands left Ireland after 1650 and later settled in North America.
They prospered in Loudoun County, Virginia, where they operated Noland's Ferry,
a ferry service that shuttled passengers that needed to cross the Potomac River between Maryland and Virginia.
During the Revolutionary War, our ancestors served in the Continental Army and helped soldiers cross the Potomac River. Records indicate that General George Washington had dinner with the Noland's in 1783.
